Gallions TV launched on YouTube

In 2010 Gallions Housing Association set up a YouTube channel and set about populating it with films for residents. We made all seven films on the channel, from ‘How to report a repair’ and ‘How to get involved’ to a film showcasing their Residents Conference and another explaining new phasing for building work in Thamesmead.

Over the year we built up a substantial archive of footage for them. They made the most of this at the end of the year when they asked us to make a film to accompany their Tenancy Agreement. This 10 minute film, which is now shown to all residents in their sign up meeting was made with just a couple of extra days filming – making it a very cost effective communications tool.

Films for the housing sector

We specialise in films for housing providers. So far, twelve housing organisations have turned to us when they wanted their communications with their residents and stakeholders to be more accessible, easier to understand and to generate a positive reaction.

Our housing clients include A2Dominion, Gallions, Shepherds Bush Housing Group and all of the Community Gateway Housing Associations. Every film is different. Here are just five ways that film can help you achieve your communication objectives:

  1. Promotional films that introduce your organisation.
  2. 'How to' films to explain processes, such as 'reporting repairs'.
  3. Films that capture and promote focus groups and events.
  4. Films that accompany documents such as tenancy agreements or funding applications.
  5. Films that encourage residents to participate in your resident involvement opportunities.
